Beginnings : 2014
At first, it seemed that we had an impossible task ahead of us, there was so much to be cleared away in order to make the site accessible and safe for the public.
Not only miles of wire mesh fencing to be removed but also a large boat on a trailer and a caravan!
Decisions had to be made in some areas as to how much bramble patch to leave as habitat against allowing access, for example.
The old stable
The rotten wood of the stable block made the structure dangerous.
"Duck house"
At first it was thought that the ruined duck house by the Pond could be re-used as a viewing platform, but the structure proved to be rotten and hazardous. It had to be pulled down.
